Ziyu Liao (born 1999 in Chengdu, China) is an artist living and working in London and Chengdu. He studied at Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU)(2018-2022) and then at Chelsea College of Art in London (2023-24).​ In his undergraduate studies, he focused on the creation of dramatic stage performances and deeply studied the Chinese drama stage.He discovered that theatrical performances could be combined with dance, installation art, and photography.Because he is an actor, he is more capable of empathizing with people and things in life, and making thoughts and judgments about the difficult-to-discover phenomena in society.He is good at keeping himself out of the situation as an observer, observing, thinking and judging, so as to complete his creation with different artistic languages.​​​

 His creative experience was shaped by a single character and used the background and language of the character to convey the central idea of the story, and gradually changed to a visual and multi-perspective video, photography and installation to explore social behavior and the smallest points in society. The relationship between people and people and the relationship between people and society is something that he believes needs to spend his whole life thinking and growing up.

In his works 'FAKE' and 'LOOP', he combines dance, installation art and performance in the form of videos to show a series of social behaviors such as false emotions and body language that he wants to express, as well as problems of deeper social classes behind them, causing the audience to understand and reflect on the deeper meaning.
